Mental health and well-being protective factors of lone and isolated workers in the West Highlands and Skye (Easy read version)

This research report (easy read version), published by Samaritans in 2024, aims to identify protective factors that can help lone and isolated workers maintain their mental well-being in the West Highlands and Skye.

The study focused on the unique challenges these workers face, such as increased home working and reduced opportunities for physical interaction with colleagues.

It seeks to understand the strategies, characteristics, attributes, and resources that can protect their mental health and well-being.

The research was co-designed by Samaritans staff and volunteers and is part of a broader effort to address mental health stigma and improve support systems for lone and isolated workers
